Power to Relate: Our New Course for Men
Teaming up with Daniel Simpson to offer a four-week immersion.
Resonant World #46
I’m feeling an exciting sensation of momentum building behind Resonant World.
It was a huge privilege to serve as a co-host of the Collective Trauma Summit 2023, which wrapped up yesterday with a closing ceremony featuring the convener Thomas Hübl, and co-hosts Laura Calderón de la Barca, Ruby Mendenhall and Robin Alfred.
I love how the summit serves as a beacon pulsing out energy and insight in support of the fast-growing global movement to integrate individual, ancestral and collective trauma. (If you didn’t have time to catch many of the 70-plus talks, you can get a flavour from these bite-sized video excerpts).
If you’re on any kind of journey of self-discovery, transformation and empowerment, then I’d invite you to consider whether purchasing the whole summit package might provide a supportive resource.1 I can’t think of many places where there’s such a diversity of voices speaking to so many facets of individual and collective healing, curated in such a coherent and accessible way.
Power To Relate
Meanwhile, I’m delighted to be teaming up once again with my friend Daniel Simpson to offer our new course for men: A four-week online immersion to learn practical tools for enjoying better relationships.
For some of us, the primary motivation for joining this course will be to improve our relationships with our partners. But the skills we’re going to be practicing will work to enrich any relationship, whether it be with friends, family, colleagues or somebody you interact with for just a few minutes during a chance encounter in the street.
I know that there have been many times in my life when I’ve struggled to share how I really feel because I was afraid of being rejected. I’ve also said “yes” when I really meant “no,” or shut down in ways that once served an intelligent function in keeping me safe, but hold me back as an adult.
Bigger Breakthroughs
These are common patterns, but they rob our lives of spontaneity, connection and joy. The problem is that — even if we’re aware we’re missing the mark in some way — these patterns can be difficult to change. And that’s even harder when we go it alone.
What’s so inspiring is that I’ve seen time and again how men coming together in confidential spaces can support each other to make far bigger breakthroughs, in a far shorter time, than we’d ever achieve on our own.
With a few basic agreements in place to establish trust and safety, men naturally serve as mirrors and guides for one another — helping us to see our own outdated patterns more clearly, while spurring us to find the courage to change.
In Power To Relate, we’re going to share practical tools to show you how to:
Get clearer about how you feel
Recognise your triggers — so they don’t control you
Listen at a whole new level
Find the courage to say “yes” and “no” — and really mean it
Speak from the heart and share yourself more freely
Embody more of who you really are
Clarity and Connection
My approach to this kind of work has been heavily influenced by my experience on the two-year Timeless Wisdom Training, led by Thomas Hübl, which has involved intense practice in relating with greater depth, clarity and connection than I had imagined possible.
And I’m delighted to be once more partnering to run a men’s group with Daniel, whom I’ve witnessed evolve and metamorphosize in spectacular fashion over the last 25 years. Daniel will be drawing on a deep well of personal contemplative practice, and profound knowledge of yoga philosophy, to enrich our journey together — as well as his natural open-heartedness, and talents as an international facilitator.
We want to keep this group at an intimate size, so please do book early if you’re interested. I can’t wait to get started: We learned on our last four-week men’s course a year ago how much can happen in a short time. I have a feeling that this new course will deliver some seriously deep and lasting shifts.
More details on dates, times, logistics and pricing at the course page.
And here’s Daniel and I giving a flavour:
I hope you can join us!
Practicalities
Our small-scale group meets on Sundays via Zoom (Nov 5, 12, 19 & 26, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, UK time).
There will be “homework” between weekly sessions, with ongoing discussions in a private WhatsApp group.
We also share helpful resources on a dedicated website, including videos with practical guidance.
In exchange for the above, your investment — along with your presence — is £175.
Book here.
And for anyone (of any gender) who wants to work with me one-on-one, please see below for details of my soul witnessing practice via the Tarot.
Work with Me: Soul Witnessing via the Tarot
I used to have no interest in Tarot, and — if I’d given the practice more than a moment’s thought — would have dismissed it as something slightly sinister, perhaps even dangerous, and certainly not part of my path.
I’ve since learned that I was missing out on a powerful, safe and endlessly enriching psychedelic experience — in the true “mind manifesting” sense of the term.
If you enjoy Resonant World, then you may find a Tarot reading with me a helpful resource for tapping into the kind of inner guidance that can help us to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence, ease and flow.
I work with the cards to open an oracular space (to borrow Matthew Stelzner’s term) to connect you to the part of yourself that knows the answers you seek, and can communicate precisely via the 1,200 symbols in the Thoth deck. It is amazing to see what the beautiful, multi-layered imagery can unearth from just below the surface of our awareness — and feel the clarity and energy that a reading can unlock.
I charge £70 / $90 for a session that typically lasts 90 minutes, including a guided meditation to establish a coherent field linking us with the cards. Sessions in-person (in London) or via Zoom. (I am a member of the Tarot Association of the British Isles and abide by its code of ethics). Reading the Tarot is one of my absolute favourite things to do, and I love how people light up with the insights and realisations that a session can evoke.
If anyone buys summit via the links in this newsletter, I receive a small share of the cost. Obviously, that’s a great boost for Resonant World — and I’d only ever recommend anything I wholeheartedly value myself.
