Resonant World #120
While my sedate suburban existence unfolds for the most part within a mile of my local high street,
, the co-creator of our Resonant Man initiative, is a digital nomad, whose ever-fluctuating whereabouts follows a logic that I can only dimly discern. So I was especially glad that we had a rare opportunity to sit down in the studio in London a few weeks ago and explore the essence of what we’re offering men who join our weekly sessions, and women who attend the mixed gatherings we’re holding in a parallel but slower orbit.
Our work draws on Jacob’s years of practice of Dialogos — a form of transformative dialogue — and my immersion in Thomas Hübl’s teachings on collective healing, to support men to transform what might seem like core wounds into the “doorway into the authentic self,” as Jacob put it.
As I reliably find talking with Jacob, I emerged with a deeper understanding of both my own trajectory, and the shared vision that informs our collaboration, which is a source of constant joy and surprise to me.
I hope the above podcast helps to explain what the is all about. If you’re potentially interested in taking part, do drop me a line, or comment below, and we’ll respond promptly. A nucleus of Resonant Men has constellated to meet for 90 minutes each Sunday evening (at 1900 GMT), and we’re keen to grow the field gradually as more men heed the call.
And if you’ve been thinking about joining, now is a particularly good moment to do so, since we’ll be spending our next four sessions learning, renewing and deepening our Dialogos practice, under Jacob’s expert guidance.
In our podcast, we discussed themes including:
My journey from international journalist working for big media organisations to following a call to “something that doesn’t yet exist,” based on my appreciation of the crucial importance of individual and collective healing
Jacob’s contribution to the “liminal web” — a space between cultures
How suffering and breakdown cracks us open to draw from a deeper source
Importance of collective healing work to respond to our global Dark Night
Men’s work as a way to witness each other in new ways, and discover capacities we didn’t know we had
How group spaces can support ongoing individual healing
Recognition of the value of faith, patience and commitment
Group fields as a support for tuning in to the authentic future self
How men often feel under-resourced to navigate relationships, and how creating a community of peers and elders can remedy that
Melting the frozenness passed through generations of men who suffered trauma in the World Wars, and still lives in us today
Re-imaginging the Warrior archetype for the present
The Resonant Man as an “energetic web” that holds us in our struggles, and grows our capacity to come into alignment with who we really are
Cultivating our capacity to be in integrity with women, and serve and honour the feminine with courage and skill
Jacob and I would be very grateful for any help in sharing this material so that it might reach more men who may benefit.
The cost of membership is £125 per month, which includes four live sessions and ongoing discussion via WhatsApp. You can find out more here.
We are providing brief weekly updates on the themes arising in our Sunday sessions in a separate newsletter:
Hope to see you at one of our gatherings soon!

Loved this podcast, thanks to both of you.
Loved this, just for a great feedback from a friend in another group. She was really encouraged to see men of younger generations addressing these issues & also resonated with a lot of it herself. I reflected back that it’s often been women who resonate with the work (in public) more than men. We’ll see how that evolves with interest. So excited to do our next mixed space.
