Thank you for supporting Resonant World. 🙏
“Cultivating spiritual practices addressing today's political-economic challenges is critical for the future of our civilization. Genesis Experience is precisely that cultivating ground. It combines diverse embodied spiritual approaches for deep reflection on self-development with an eclectic community of practitioners engaged in speculative experimentation to forge new political-economic frameworks.” — Cadell Last, Philosophy Portal.
If you’re a man and you enjoy Resonant World and What is Collective Healing? then you’re warmly welcome to apply to join The Resonant Man, the international men’s initiative I co-founded with Jacob Kishere. We host weekly online men’s circles, special events and in-person retreats. More details at The Resonant Man, or message me direct. It’s a powerful space to step into if you feel the call to evolve in community.
Resonant World #156
In times like these, there’s a need to come together in new ways.
If you’re anywhere near Belgium on the last weekend in September, it would be great to see you at the Genesis Experience at the Commons Hub Brussels, at the city’s central station.
I’ll be joining super-inspiring and open-hearted friends of Resonant World including Pamela von Sablar (Living Eros), Cadell Last (Philosophy Portal) and Timothée Brès (Generative Leadership) to take part in this two-day immersive inquiry.
We’ll be exploring new ways of building community, relating with each other, and creating culture — all with a view to responding to the crises erupting in every direction with more wisdom and care. (Details here).
The gathering will be held in an intimate Lab format — with everyone present serving in a dual participant-contributor role. We’ll be developing our capacity to hold the kind of polarities between masculine and feminine, centralised and networked, and conservative and progressive that are causing so much friction — and need to resolve into a higher form of integration for a more flourishing future to land.
I’m approaching this as a wonderful opportunity to connect with — and learn from — people pursuing truly unique paths of exploration, entrepreneurship and service, and gain fresh perspectives on the following themes:
Generative Leadership: Emergence and systemic change; decentralisation and the Father Wound; generative culture.
Culture and Religion: Family and biocultural kinship, post-religious Christianity; non-binary spirits and binary bodies.
Society and Technology: Techno-capitalism; commons; cosmo-local; web3 ; AI shadow work and hyperhumanism.
I’m excited to play a role in weaving together contributions focused on collective healing, modern masculinity and trauma-restoring media — drawing on my training with Thomas Hübl and team; my work with Jacob Kishere in The Resonant Man; and role as co-host of What Is Collective Healing? presented by the Pocket Project.
With so much suffering, breakdown and hostility active in the world, I feel a strong pull to contribute to groups collectively sensing into a more authentic vision of the future. I’m grateful to Timothée and the other organisers for creating a place where we can embrace the often delicate process of exploring and embodying the new ways of being we’ll need to make these visions real.
There’s more context on the principles informing the initiative in this report on the first Genesis Experience, which gathered some 50 participants in January. Drop me a line if you’re interested in finding out more. It would be wonderful if you felt an impulse to join us.
Yoga for Collective Healing
A big thank-you to everyone who joined my Substack live dialogue with Daniel Simpson of Ancient Futures last month exploring what yoga philosophy can tell us about collective healing. Daniel drew on his deep knowledge of yogic traditions to bring a new lens to the kind of collective trauma integration work I’m studying, and I hope our dialogue will serve anyone interested in the broader question of how ancient wisdom traditions can speak to modern dilemmas.
Daniel still has a few spots left on the Path of Knowledge, his unique, year-long immersion in yoga philosophy, starting later this month. The first edition was a huge success, building a lively and engaged community of participants from around the world. This next iteration will no doubt be an essential source of guidance, insight and support for anyone seeking a deep understanding of yoga’s history, philosophy, practices and texts — and why they remain so essential today.
