“Our destination is a healing place, an integral commune of spirit that is congealing around the world like a quantum virus from outer space.” — Zhiwa Woodbury.
Resonant World#83
If you’ve never seen Zhiwa Woodbury speak, then today’s your chance.
Zhiwa will be appearing alongside Freya Mathews and Matthew Segall at the online Gaiacardia Summit on a panel with the theme “Our Cosmic Journey to Gaiaself.”
Zhiwa will be speaking specifically on the topic of “Quantum Phenomenology: Uplinking our Psyche to Gaia’s” — a practice he explored in his Dharma Beat newsletter in March here.
Zhiwa’s summit appearance is at 18:10 Pacific Time today Saturday April 20 2024 (equivalent time in other time zones shown below).
Speakers at the summit include cosmologist Brian Swimme and biologist Elisabet Sahtouris. There’s a free option to register to watch the summit live (and receive access to recordings) here:
Antidote to Climate Anxiety
Regular readers may recall Resonant World co-published Zhiwa’s inaugural Dharma Beat post last July, which provides more context on Zhiwa’s recent trajectory — both intellectually, and physically, courtesy of his Euro Van Camper, which — last time I checked — was parked somewhere on the coast of British Columbia. (Resonant World#37: Guest Post: The Mad Dharma Beat American Highway Dream).
I cannot begin to do justice to the depth of Zhiwa’s decades of thinking and writing on the ecological crisis, and the worldview he’s developed as a result.
Suffice to say, his seminal paper Climate Trauma: Towards A New Taxonomy of Traumatology has been a major influence on me, and I wrote about it in the first edition of this newsletter in August 2022. (Resonant World#1: Climate Trauma).
It was Zhiwa who introduced me to Thomas Hübl in 2019, setting me on a path of study of the principles of healing inter-generational and collective trauma that feels like it’s only just getting started. (Resonant World#79: Why I’m Training as a Collective Trauma Integration Facilitator).
Fortunately, Zhiwa needs no translation: He’s writing prolifically on his evolving thinking in The Dharma Beat, the latest edition of which explores how “quantum phenomenology” can be a cure for climate anxiety.
Zhiwa writes:
“Our portion of the…summit will be discussing topics like: Cosmogenesis of the Gaiasphere; Gaian ecosophy for the awakening of humanity; Indigeneity & Panpsychism; and, the birth of the Gaianthropocene. For my part, I’ve been asked to introduce the concept of Quantum Phenomenology to the discussion, which we discussed in the last Dharma Beat.”
If any of this intrigues you, I invite you to dive deeper into his post here:
And if you’re looking for a new perspective on our ecological predicament informed by a vastly expanded understanding of the nature of reality, then do tune into Zhiwa’s talk live later today, or catch up with the replay.
He might just blow your mind.
Global Times for Zhiwa’s Panel
A labour of love, Resonant World is written in the gaps between work I get paid to do, notably editing investigations at nonprofit climate news service DeSmog. It’s a huge boost when people become paid subscribers, and support of any amount affirms that my mission to support the global community of practitioners engaged in supporting people to integrate individual, inter-generational and collective trauma has value. Thank you!
